How to reset enhanced accident response system Fiat 500.

In the event of an impact causing air bag deployment, if the communication network remains intact, and the power remains intact, depending on the nature of theevent, the ORC will determine whether to have the Enhanced Accident Response System perform the following functions:

  • Cut off fuel to the engine.
  • Flash hazard lights as long as the battery has power or until the ignition key is turned off.
  • Turn on the interior lights, which remain on as long as the battery has power or until the ignition key is removed.
  • Unlock the doors automatically.
  • After the event occurs, when the system is active, the message Fuel Cutoff See Handbook is displayed. Carefully check the vehicle for fuel leaks in the engine compartment and on the ground near the engine compartment and fuel tank before resetting the system and starting the engine.

System reset procedure.

After an impact causing air bag deployment, the left and right turn signal lights, located in the instrument panel cluster, will both be blinking, until the ignition is turned off. In order to move your vehicle to the side of the road you must follow the system reset procedure.

  1. Turn ignition OFF. Turn signal switch must be placed in neutral state.
  2. Turn ignition ON. Customer will see left turn light is OFF. Right turn light blinks.
  3. Turn right turn signal switch ON. Customer will see – right turn light is ON solid. Left turn light blinks.
  4. Turn left turn signal switch ON. Customer will see, left turn light is ON solid. Right turn light blinks.
  5. Turn right turn signal switch ON. Customer will see, right turn light is ON solid. Left turn light blinks.
  6. Turn left turn signal switch ON. Customer will see, Left turn light is ON solid. Right turn light is ON solid.
  7. Turn left turn signal switch OFF. Turn signal switch must be placed in neutral state. Customer will see, left turn light is OFF. Right turn light is OFF.
  8. Turn ignition OFF. Customer will see, system is now reset and the engine may be started.
  9. Turn hazard flashers OFF (manually).
  10. If a reset procedure step is not completed within 45 seconds, then the turn signal lights will turn off and the reset procedure must be performed again in order to be successful.

If a deployment occurs.

The advanced front Air Bags are designed to deflate immediately after deployment.

Front and/or side air bags will not deploy in all collisions. This does not mean something is wrong with the air bag system.

If you do have a collision which deploys the air bags, any or all of the following may occur:

  • The nylon air bag material may sometimes cause abrasions and/or skin reddening to the driver and front passenger as the air bags deploy and unfold. The abrasions are similar to friction rope burns or those you might get sliding along a carpet or gymnasium floor. They are not caused by contact with chemicals. They are not permanent and normally heal quickly. However, if you haven’t healed significantly within a few days, or if you have any blistering, see your doctor immediately.
  • As the air bags deflate, you may see some smoke-like particles. The particles are a normal by-product of the process that generates the non-toxic gas used for air bag inflation. These airborne particles may irritate the skin, eyes, nose, or throat. If you have skin or eye irritation, rinse the area with cool water. For nose orthroat irritation, move to fresh air. If the irritation continues, see your doctor. If these particles settle on your clothing, follow the garment manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning.

Do not drive your vehicle after the air bags have deployed. If you are involved in another collision, the air bags will not be in place to protect you.

Deployed air bags and seat belt pretensioners cannot protect you in another collision. Have the air bags, seat belt pretensioners, and the front seat belt retractor assemblies replaced by an authorized dealer immediately. Also, have the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) system serviced as well.

Reset the desired vehicle set speed Fiat 500

Reset the desired vehicle set speed Fiat 500. From year: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014.

Electronic speed control Fiat 500.

When engaged, the Electronic Speed Control takes over accelerator operations at speeds greater than 25 mph (40 km/h). The Electronic Speed Control buttons are located on the right side of the steering wheel.

Speed Control Buttons Fiat 500.

In order to ensure proper operation, the Electronic Speed Control system has been designed to shut down if multiple Speed Control functions are operated at the same time. If this occurs, the Electronic Speed Control system can be reactivated by pushing the Electronic Speed Control ON/OFF button and resetting the desired vehicle set speed.

To activate.

Push the ON/OFF button. The Cruise Indicator light in the instrument cluster will illuminate. To turn the system off, push the ON/OFF button a second time. The Cruise Indicator light will turn off. The system should be turned off when not in use.

Leaving the Electronic Speed Control system on when not in use is dangerous. You could accidentally set the system or cause it to go faster than you want. You could lose control and have an accident. Always leave the system OFF when you are not using it.

To set a desired speed on a Fiat 500.

Turn the Electronic Speed Control ON. When the vehicle has reached the desired speed, press the SET (-) button and release. Release the accelerator and the vehicle will operate at the selected speed.

The vehicle should be traveling at a steady speed and on level ground before pressing the SET button.

To deactivate.

A soft tap on the brake pedal, pushing the CANC button, or normal brake pressure while slowing the vehicle will deactivate Electronic Speed Control without erasing the set speed memory. Pressing the ON/OFF button or turning the ignition switch OFF erases the set speed memory.

To resume speed.

To resume a previously set speed, push the RES (+) button and release. Resume can be used at any speed above 20 mph (32 km/h).

To vary the speed setting.

When the Electronic Speed Control is set, you can increase speed by pushing the RES (+) button. If the button is continually pressed, the set speed will continue to increase until the button is released, then the new set speed will be established. Pressing the RES (+) button once will result in a 1 mph (2 km/h) increase in set speed. Each subsequent tap of the button results in an increase of 1 mph (2 km/h).

To decrease speed while the Electronic Speed Control is set, push the SET (-) button. If the button is continually held in the SET (-) position, the set speed will continue to decrease until the button is released. Release the button when the desired speed is reached, and the new set speed will be established. Pressing the SET (-) button once will result in a 1 mph (2 km/h) decrease in set speed. Each subsequent tap of the button results in a decrease of 1 mph (2 km/h).

To accelerate for passing.

Press the accelerator as you would normally. When the pedal is released, the vehicle will return to the set speed.

Using electronic speed control on hills Fiat 500.

The transmission may downshift on hills to maintain the vehicle set speed.

The Electronic Speed Control system maintains speed up and down hills. A slight speed change on moderate hills is normal. On steep hills, a greater speed loss or gain may occur so it may be preferable to drive without Electronic Speed Control.

Electronic speed control can be dangerous where the system cannot maintain a constant speed. Your vehicle could go too fast for the conditions, and you could lose control and have an accident. Do not use Electronic Speed Control in heavy traffic or on roads that are winding, icy, snow-covered or slippery.

Timing Belt Warning Indicator Reset Procedure For LandCruiser

Reset Procedure For Toyota LandCruiser UZJ100, HZJ105 and HDJ100

1. T-BELT MODE DISPLAY
a) With ignition turned ON, using the trip switch (select/reset button) change the display to ODO, and turn the ignition OFF
b) While pressing the trip switch, turn the ignition switch ON and hold it for 5 seconds.
c) Release the trip switch, then press the switch again within 5 seconds.
d) The digital display should change to T-belt mode. The initial display “15” (0,000km) is displayed (ie. 150,000km).

2. REWRITING REPLACEMENT VALUES
While in the T-Belt mode, each press of the trip switch will change the displayed value by 10,000km increments. Once ” 20 ” (200,000km) is reached the display reverts back to ” 1 ” (10,000km) again. Remember, this setting is the number of kilometres to be travelled before the light comes on next, and once reset this counter will start from zero.
I believe the timing belt interval for all the 100 series engine variants is 150,000km, but this should be checked against each different markets servicing recommendation. This being the case, you shouldn’t need to change from the default setting of “15”.
Obviously for the US, the ODO is in miles, and I guess the T-Belt warning would be set in 10,000 mile intervals.

3. T-BELT WARNING RESET COMPLETION
a) After setting the replacement setting value, hold the trip switch ON for more than 5 seconds then release the switch.
b) Check that the display has now changed back to ODO and that the warning light has gone off when the engine is started.
NOTE: If the T-Belt mode is completed, even though the belt replacement has not been performed, the T-Belt warning IS reset.
I hope this proves to be of assistance guys, as usual all care no responsibility. ;-)
